THE VILLA

Villa Cerbaiola is one of the prestigious villas of the Empoli hills. Because of its panoramic view the hill on which the villa is built was re-named “the Fiesole of the people of Empoli ” by the historian Bucchi

in 1800.

It is situated in the centre of a large park where you can experience the tranquillity and serenity of the countryside, a stone's throw away from the city centre. The white walls of the  villa, the beautiful windows and the elegance of the design are perfectly in tune with the typical Tuscan scenery.

HISTORY

The ancient building was built as a farm house around 1400, as witness certain 16th Century Montelupo ceramic remains found during restoration works in the cellars.

In 1700 it became a mansion  and a  third floor was added. In 1922 the Cantini family, who owned the property at the time, transformed the villa in neoclassical style, adding the splendid tower with  composite columns and capitals.

THE ROOMS

Villa Cerbaiola has three double rooms, two standard and one superior, all with private bathrooms with bath, internet, wifi, TV and hair dryer.

The Rose room

Standard

The  antique pink tone of the furnishings makes this room particularly warm and welcoming.

The bathroom, in light coloured marble, has a comfortable bath with jacuzzi.

The Jasmin room

Standard

Cherry wood and mariner style features characterize this room. The large windows render it particularly luminous and offer a wide view of all

the park. The bathroom is lined in marble of a warm Bardiglio green.

The Narcissus room

Superior

Spacious and luminous, this room is enriched with valuable ancient furniture; particularly precious is its wooden floor, made of three different types of tree from our wood to create particular multi-coloured geometrical effects. The marble bathroom is particularly elegant and has a jacuzzi bath and double wash basin.

THE GARDEN

Villa Cerbaiola is surrounded by green.

The garden, encircling the entire house and enclosed by hedges, conceals a new surprise in every corner: a vase, a stone, the beautiful swimming pool, the original church....Between May and September it is a triumph of blossoms, perfumes and colours. You can see jasmine flowers, horse chestnuts, lavender, heather, gorse and wisteria.

Next to the villa there is a pretty pond with pink and yellow water lilies, lotus flowers and cute frogs which enliven the long quiet summer nights.

The garden  then descends gently towards the fields ending in a vast meadow with invitingly tranquil walks amongst the olive, lemon and mimosa trees.

You can go for relaxing walks along the various paths through the oak and pine wood in the surrounding area. In the garden you will also find many little animals. Near the pond there are ducks, peacocks, doves and goats.
